welkom bij alweer een nieuw interview met dit keer niemand minder dan de Roemeense zanger Romeo Zaharia.
We kunnen Romeo kennen van zijn deelname aan het nationale songfestival in Roemenië waarin hij dit jaar meedeed met het nummer ´Until The Fight Is Over´.
Ik vind het een hele eer dat Romeo wat tijd heeft kunnen maken om een paar vragen te beantwoorden.

Welcome to yet another interview with none other than Romanian singer Romeo Zaharia.
We may know Romeo from his participation in the national song contest in Romania in which he competed this year with the song ´Until The Fight Is Over´.
I find it a great honor that Romeo was able to make some time to answer a few questions.

The Interview:
1. I´m from The Netherlands, and here we don´t know you very well yet. Can you briefly tell us who you are and what you do?
I am a singer and actor at the ´Toma Caragiu´ theater in Ploiesti.
2. I know you from the National Song Contest of Romania where you participated with the song
´Until The Fight Is Over´.
First real question: Where did the inspiration came from to do something in the music industry?
I go to music competitions, including when I was 16 and I got used to it, plus I like to sing live,
doing it at the theater where I am employed and where I sing with the orchestra, of course always
live. I am inspired by what I love. Day by day and transpose these feelings into music and the way
they sing.
3. How did your career start?
My music career started when I enrolled in the folk art school in my hometown, Vaslui, where I
had a teacher, the singer Doina Morosanu.
4. Who are your big examples or inspirations?
From international music I was inspired by Tom Jones, Freddie Mercury and my singing teacher
instilled in me a love for classical music and theater.
5. Returning to the National Song Contest: How did you get there?
Related to the Eurovision national team, I saw the announcement on national television with the
start of registration and I started looking for songs and that´s how I got to know the composer of the
song ´Until the fight Is Over´, Arnar Astradsson” through the lyricist Aidan O Connor.
6. What did this period look like for you and what have you learn?
It was a very busy time with numerous appearances on television, rehearsals with the girls in the
backing, plus my activity in the theater. I did a lot of commuting in Bucharest, where the televisions
are. I also made a video promoting the song in my city and I say that it came out very well and
highlighted the song. I had with me the beautiful ballerina of the theater, Svetlana Pavel. Thanks to
the director of the video, Dan Bibanu.
7. Who did you see as your biggest competitor and why?
I didn´t necessarily perceive them as competitors because I´m friends with some of them and I
consider that the most important thing is to feel good on stage and to sing with a lot of love for the
audience. The music is the one to win.
8. You participated with the song ´Until The Fight Is Over´. What is the song about? Can you tell that in brief?
It is a love song, about a strong love that tells us that there is love in the life of each of us and even
if a relationship has ended love lasts forever.
9. Do you plan to participate in the National Song Contest again someday?
Yes, I would like to participate more, but I will prepare the song in time and I think I will focus on
something more rhythmic and with more show. Somehow, this is a safer recipe for success. it can
be a rhythmic song but in which I can also show my vocal qualities.
10. You have released several songs. Which song are you most proud of and why?
I think my best participation is this year. I had a lot of promotion on various national televisions.
It also helped me that I had my own video and that made the whole project more valuable.
11. Where would you still like to perform and why?
I really like my activity in the theater, where I feel like a fish in water. I would like to play ain high-class musicals such as ´Zaraza´ directed by Razvan Mazilu and ´Thanksgiving´ directed by Horia Suru.
12. Do you have any other passions besides making music? If so, which ones?
For 4 years my passion is bodybuilding. I go to the gym every day with close friends who
motivate me.
13. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself on the big stages as I do now, making quality music and with albums released.
14. Do you have any tips for new artists? (Like me, haha!)
For those who want to pursue a career in art I urge them to always trust them and if they have
grace it will lead their life, sooner or later to success. I come from a modest family and yet I have a
career in music. patiently, a lot of work, you will surely succeed.

1. Ik kom uit Nederland, en hier kennen we je nog niet zo goed. Kan je ons in het kort vertellen wie je bent en wat je doet?
Ik ben zanger en acteur bij het ´Toma Caragiu´ theater in Ploiesti.
2. Ik ken je van het Nationaal Songfestival van Roemenië waar je deelnam met het lied
"Until The Fight Is Over".
Eerste echte vraag: Waar kwam de inspiratie vandaan om iets in de muziekindustrie te gaan doen?
Ik ga naar muziekwedstrijden, ook toen ik 16 was en ik raakte eraan gewend, plus ik hou ervan om live te zingen, dat doe ik in het theater waar ik werk en waar ik zing met het orkest, natuurlijk altijd live. Ik word geïnspireerd door waar ik van hou. Dag na dag en zet deze gevoelens om in muziek en de manier ze zingen.
3. Hoe is je carrière begonnen?
Mijn muziekcarrière begon toen ik me inschreef op de volkskunstschool in mijn geboortestad, Vaslui, waar ik een leraar had, de zanger Doina Morosanu.
4. Wie zijn je grote voorbeelden of inspiraties?
Uit de internationale muziek werd ik geïnspireerd door Tom Jones, Freddie Mercury en mijn zangleraar bracht me de liefde voor klassieke muziek en theater bij.
5. Terugkeren naar het Nationaal Songfestival: Hoe ben je daar terechtgekomen?
In verband met het nationale Eurovisie-team zag ik de aankondiging op de nationale televisie met de start van de inschrijving en ik ging op zoek naar liedjes en zo leerde ik de componist kennen van het lied ´Until the fight Is Over´, Arnar Astradsson" via de tekstschrijver Aidan O Connor.
6. Hoe zag deze periode er voor jou uit en wat heb je geleerd?
Het was een zeer drukke tijd met talrijke optredens op televisie, repetities met de meisjes in de
backing, plus mijn activiteit in het theater. Ik heb veel gependeld in Boekarest, waar de televisies
zijn. Ik heb ook een video gemaakt om het lied te promoten in mijn stad en ik zeg dat het heel goed uitkwam en het lied in de verf zette. Ik had de mooie ballerina van het theater, Svetlana Pavel, bij me. Dank aan de regisseur van de video, Dan Bibanu.
7. Wie zag je als je grootste concurrent en waarom?
Ik zag ze niet per se als concurrenten omdat ik bevriend ben met sommigen van hen en ik
vind dat het belangrijkste is om je goed te voelen op het podium en te zingen met veel liefde voor het publiek. De muziek is degene die moet winnen.
8. Je deed mee met het liedje 'Until The Fight Is Over'. Waar gaat het liedje over? Kun je dat in het kort vertellen?
Het is een liefdesliedje, over een sterke liefde die ons vertelt dat er liefde is in het leven van ieder van ons en zelfs als een relatie is beëindigd liefde voor altijd duurt.
9. Ben je van plan om ooit nog eens deel te nemen aan het Nationaal Songfestival?
Ja, ik zou graag nog eens meedoen, maar ik zal het lied op tijd voorbereiden en ik denk dat ik me zal richten op iets meer ritmisch en met meer show. Op de een of andere manier is dit een veiliger recept voor succes. Het kan een ritmisch nummer zijn maar waarin ik ook mijn vocale kwaliteiten kan laten zien.
10. Je hebt verschillende nummers uitgebracht. Op welk nummer ben je het meest trots en waarom?
Ik denk dat mijn beste deelname dit jaar is. Ik heb veel promotie gehad op verschillende nationale televisies.
Het hielp me ook dat ik mijn eigen video had en dat maakte het hele project waardevoller.
11. Waar zou je nog willen optreden en waarom?
Ik hou erg van mijn activiteit in het theater, waar ik me als een vis in het water voel. De plekken waar ik nog op zou willen tredenzijn hoogstaande musicals zoals ´Zaraza´ geregisseerd door Razvan Mazilu en ´Thanksgiving´ geregisseerd door Horia Suru.
12. Heb je nog andere passies naast het maken van muziek? Zo ja, welke?
Sinds 4 jaar is mijn passie bodybuilding. Ik ga elke dag naar de sportschool met goede vrienden
die me motiveren.
13. Waar zie je jezelf over 5 jaar?
Ik zie mezelf op de grote podia zoals ik nu doe, kwaliteitsmuziek maken en met albums uitbrengen.
14. Heb je nog tips voor nieuwe artiesten? (Zoals ik, haha!)
Voor degenen die een carrière in de kunst willen nastreven dring ik erop aan dat ze altijd vertrouwen hebben en als ze genade zal het hun leven leiden, vroeg of laat naar succes. Ik kom uit een bescheiden familie en toch heb ik een carrière in de muziek. geduldig, veel werk, je zult zeker slagen.
Ik wil Romeo hartelijk danken voor zijn tijd voor dit interview. Ik voelde me vereerd en heb hem zeker beter leren kennen, en ik hoop jullie ook!
